MEXC hosted an insightful AMA with Liz Bazurto, Head of Business Development at Linea, diving into the on-chain scaling capabilities of ZK EVM and the network’s unique approach to Ethereum equivalence. Liz shared her experience with Linea, emphasizing how Linea’s team of industry veterans is building a Layer 2 solution from the ground up without shortcuts.
During the session, Liz highlighted what sets Linea apart from other Layer 2 networks:

- No separate gas token, using ETH for gas and maintaining mainnet security
- Finality vs Optimistic Rollups, offering instant settlement ideal for institutional use
- Low gas fees through aggregated transaction posting
The AMA explored Linea’s mission and tokenomics. The network has a capped supply of 72 billion tokens, with 85% allocated to ecosystem growth. Its token is utility-focused, designed to support network expansion rather than governance. A burn mechanism permanently removes a portion of fees to enhance value, while the Linea Consortium, a nonprofit entity, manages the ecosystem and supports Ethereum-aligned projects.
Liz also discussed use cases and partnerships. Linea collaborates with Maple Finance, Sharplink Gaming, and Mastercard, providing institutional-grade solutions and on-chain financial tools. She further previewed upcoming features, including native staking integration with Lido, allowing Ethereum staking rewards to be earned directly on Layer 2.
