Top Fan Tokens Make Gains as Major Clubs Continue Moving SportFi Markets

While many of us have been finishing Christmas shopping and preparing for some festive downtime, action in the world’s top football leagues has continued as clubs look to finish the year strong. Also seeking to end 2025 on a high are intrepid Fan Token traders desperate to capitalize on the sentiment and performance factors that often cause assets to rise or fall.

This past week saw almost all Fan Token clubs play their final pre-Christmas matches, so what went down (and up)? Let’s take a look at results that moved the needle in the markets.

Premier League: $CITY Surges as Man City Keep Pace with Arsenal

Manchester City just aren’t blinking right now, and Fan Token traders are jumping on the positive momentum. Trade $CITY on MEXC now.

Many view this year’s Premier League as a two-horse race, although third-placed Aston Villa, unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions, will have something to say about that. In any case, league leaders Arsenal and rivals Manchester City are the top two, and their experience and squad depth probably means they’ll take the title race to the wire.

On Saturday (Dec. 20), Manchester City made it five league wins in a row by beating West Ham United 3-0 at the Etihad, Erling Haaland netting either side of Tijjani Reijnders. The prolific Norwegian has now scored 19 goals in 17 league matches, and the win means City are just two points behind Arsenal.

Despite the fact that City have lost more league matches (4) than either Arsenal (2) or Aston Villa (3), who sit just one point behind them, and as many as fourth-placed Chelsea (who are eight points behind), there is a growing sense that they could overhaul Arsenal in the near future, and go on to win the league for what would be the fifth time in the last the seasons.

Such confidence has inspired Manchester City Fan Token traders. Between Dec. 18 and Dec. 21, the price of $CITY rose from $0.60 to $0.67, a jump of 11.6%.Trade volume also spiked by 52.7% over the same period. The emphatic nature of the win over West Ham likely played a part, so too Arsenal’s razor-thin win over Everton later on Saturday.

While a 1-0 victory delivers as many points as a 5-0 demolition, there is a great difference when it comes to market sentiment. Which is probably why the Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) has largely tracked sideways in recent days. With two home matches to play, against Brighton (Dec. 27) and title contenders Aston Villa (Dec. 30) before New Year, might $AFC be primed for upward action? Trade $AFC on MEXC now.

$PSG Rockets 13.1% Amid Impressive Return to Form

Paris Saint-Germain follow Intercontinental Cup win with a routine drubbing in the Coupe de France, as Fan Token traders pile in. Trade $PSG on MEXC now.

Last Wednesday (Dec. 17), European champions Paris Saint-Germain defeated Brazilian champions Flamengo on penalties to win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, although the $PSG Fan Token largely trended downward throughout this period, before its fortunes started to change on Dec. 19.

Between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21, $PSG pocketed 13.1% gains, perhaps aided by a commanding 4-0 win over Vendée Fontenay in the Last 64 of the Coupe de France. While that drubbing was a mere formality (Vendée Fontenay play in the fifth tier of French football), traders evidently believed $PSG was undervalued after a sluggish period and acted accordingly: trade volume rose 163% as sentiment flipped.

Still a point behind Lens in the Ligue 1 title race, Paris Saint-Germain will return to action on Jan. 4.

$BAR Up 9.6% as Barcelona Defeat In-Form Villarreal 2-0

Barça continue to be a well-oiled machine and $BAR remains a top pick of Fan Token traders. Trade $BAR on MEXC now.

The biggest La Liga fixture of the weekend was undoubtedly Sunday’s clash (Dec. 21) between table-toppers Barcelona and Villarreal, who had won their last six league games. With Real Madrid having beaten Sevilla 2-0 the day before, Barcelona had to win to maintain their four-point gap at the league summit.

Despite starting brightly in front of their home fans, Villarreal went behind after Raphinha converted a first-half penalty, and things worsened when they had a man sent off after Renato Veiga was red-carded for a reckless challenge on Lamine Yamal. In the second half, Yamal added a second goal for the visitors to seal all three points.

In the two days leading up to the game, the value of the Barcelona Fan Token ($BAR) increased by 9.6%, rising from $0.52 to $0.57. Although the price subsequently lost a little steam, trade volumes kept climbing, reaching $8.6 million in the game’s aftermath.

Barcelona return to action on Jan. 3, when they travel to fifth-placed Espanyol.

Napoli Claim Italian Super Cup, $NAP Climbs 11.1%

Napoli’s 2-0 win over Bologna in Riyadh adds more silverware to the collection as $NAP traders ride the wave. Trade $NAP on MEXC now.

Reigning Serie A champions Napoli won the Italian Super Cup on Monday (Dec. 22) after dispatching Bologna 2-0 thanks to a brace from Brazilian winger David Neres. The win followed a victory over AC Milan by the same margin on Thursday (Dec. 18), ensuring Napoli’s first Italian Super Cup since 2014.

On the markets, the Napoli Fan Token ($NAP) has had a wild month, a reflection of topsy-turvy form including defeats to Udinese and Benfica and a significant victory over Juventus. You’re only as good as your last win, so they say, and certainly positivity has returned where $NAP is concerned: the token’s value rose from $0.36 to $0.40 between Dec. 19 and Dec. 22, an increase of 11.1%. Over the same three-day period, trade volume also leapt from $817,569 to $1.42m.

Napoli have one more game before the New Year, an away trip to mid-table Cremonese in Serie A on Dec. 28. If results elsewhere go their way, a win could take them back to the league summit.

Juventus Conquer Roma to Reassert Title Credentials

Juventus score third win in a row to move within a point of fourth place in Serie A. Trade $JUV on MEXC now.

Last week, all the talk was about Tether’s all-cash proposal to acquire Exor’s stake in Juventus, news that caused the club’s shares (and its Fan Token value) to soar. This week, though, the focus was on a clutch game against Roma at the Allianz Stadium (Dec. 20). Roma were four points above the Bianconeri, and Juve simply had to win to keep their title hopes alive.

Thanks to goals from Francisco Conceicao and Lois Openda, that win was duly delivered. The 2-1 victory meant Roma missed the chance to go joint-top of the table with Inter Milan, while Juventus moved to within a point of their opponents and are now just four behind league leaders Inter Milan.

Juventus are on a clear upward trajectory, having lost just three of 16 league games – fewer than Inter Milan and third-placed Napoli. Moreover, they’ll be heavy favorites to beat struggling Pisa away from home on Dec. 27.

Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) action has cooled slightly since the Tether news, although sentiment is still mostly positive: between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21, $JUV jumped from $0.70 to $0.78, a bounce of 11.4%, with trade volumes reaching $41.5m in that period. At the time of writing, with the next game four days away, 24hr trade volume is a healthy $6.4m, higher than many Fan Tokens see even on matchdays.

AC Milan Fan Token Stages Recovery After Cup Defeat

AC Milan failed to make the Super Cup final, yet after the fall, Fan Token traders exploited an opportunity for profit. Trade $ACM on MEXC now.

On Thursday Dec. 18 AC Milan were knocked out of the Super Cup in the semifinals by Napoli, and a day later Internazionale lost a penalty shootout to Bologna to exit the same tournament. The defeats meant the Super Cup final would be contested by the Serie A champions and last year’s Italian Cup winners.

Nevertheless, traders who timed their moves smartly were in profit: after the AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM) fell from $0.52 to $0.48 between Dec. 17 and Dec. 19, it climbed to $0.54 by Dec. 21 – a recovery of 12.5%. Trade volumes, meanwhile, reached as high as $5.5m on Dec. 22 before declining.

As for the Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER), it has mostly stayed in the $0.33-0.34 range since the Bologna defeat, which caused no sharp moves in either direction.

AC Milan play relegation battlers Hellas Verona at home in the league on Dec. 28, while Inter are away to 9th-placed Atalanta a day later. Thus, while AC can go top of the league with a win, Inter will retake the top spot if they also win.
